The king of keirin

Keirin rider "Tomity" has been racing for over a quarter of a century. Here's a great video about him, and life as a keirin rider...

oldsprinter from Tokyo,

I just discovered your site. It'll be a pleasure to network with you in Japan.

I'm going to put up a link on my blog. Don't protest :)

Tomity is a great guy but the true King of Keirin is Katsuaki Matsumoto with 1341 career victories on the track in Japan. This entry in Wikipedia about Matsumoto has more stats:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katsuaki_Matsumoto

This Japns. language page has the stats on the top 60 keirin racers of all time: http://www.iris.dti.ne.jp/~tsuji/gamble/mania/01.html
My father-in-law is Seiichi Nishiji and is ranked #16 on this list (he raced for 35 yrs and was National Champion in 1963). Some pics of my in-laws can be seen here: http://www.bikes.msu.edu/greatest_cyclists/keirin-web/ Here's a Japns. language Wikipedia entry about Seiichi: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%A5%BF%E5%9C%B0%E6%B8%85%E4%B8%80
